high pressure systems.

One of my jobs as a navigator was to monitor the weather. Every two hours it would be logged into the navigational logbook. Every six hours a weather report would be sent into the Met Office so they could accurately forecast.

Tracking the weather to this extent becomes a sort of meditation.

From my last ship I took a ream of barograph paper. A barograph is a clockwork instrument used to record the pressure. Each piece of paper would last a week. It became another way to track time onboard. A strange calender if you will.

These poems were printed at CTRL and are all concerning the passage of time and weather.
